When JVC set out to create the “perfect experience” for home theater, digital media cameras and mobile entertainment, they asked mushed peas to come along for the ride — for five straight years. The task at hand was generally always the same: Develop a unique advertising campaign that would be perfect for everything online, in print, outdoors and broadcast. After several rounds of interviews, detailed research, and test driving the equipment (our favorite part), we did just that.
A select few ads from two of the more memorable campaigns, “Celebrity” and “Torn,” are highlighted in the gallery below. As you’ll see, the “Celebrity” campaign featured celebrity endorsements, yet touted the fact that you don’t have to be a celebrity to own one, but will be treated as such if you do. The “Torn” campaign was more tongue-in-cheek, as the ads focused on aspiration, and what JVC’s products would look like in your own environment. JVC considered both campaigns successful, as product sales soared higher than expected. Both campaigns ran nationally.
